Energy transition is the defining problem for the next few decades. We need to fundamentally transition the global economy towards low/no carbon alternatives and we’re running out of time.
Most of the work on the transition has to happen in this decade, which is why this is called the “decade of action”. The good news is that this transition is fully underway at the aggregated/utility segment. Money is flowing, innovation engine is humming along and demand is keeping pace. Investments in the clean energy sector have already outstripped the fossil fuel sector and they’re expected to grow manifold from this point. By various estimates, current level of investments will go 3-5X over the next few years to enable the transition. Not only are the aggregate investments supposed to increase, investments by sectors will also see a big jump, particularly in Renewables, Mobility and Energy Efficiency
